fall

this past weekend was the first "cool" one, just in time for Unclassified's cruise down to Sonic in fredericksburg and Import Alliance in bmore, md. Unclassified is a new family of people in the DMV brought together by friendship, good causes and cars. we've only been up and running for about 2 months, but we've grown a heck of a lot in more ways than one. stay tuned for toy drives, car meets and charity events :)

another thing that goes well with fall weather is woodchuck hard cider (this one here is the amber draft). a light, crisp and sweet fermented apple cider from vermont with 5% ABV.

this was my first hard cider, so i haven't really found a stance on ciders, but i know this really hit the spot. i think it would even be nice during the summertime when lounging by the pool or on the beach. woodchuck produces several varieties, including a summer one with a hint of blueberries, a fall one with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, and other fun limited editions like pumpkin.

as long as you don't think of beer and hard cider interchangeably (that would be a monstrous error on your part), i think many people looking for a crisp, lightly carbonated alcoholic beverage will enjoy this. it sure beats wine coolers and crap like that, imo.

i made some strawberry-banana muffins 2 diff times before the weekend, but they were gobbled up before i got my camera and before i had enough natural light. the recipe was simple and tasty, though, so i will make it again and take pics when i do.

sry for the absence :(

random food fact of the day (via wikipedia): the UK has the highest per capita consumption of cider, as well as the largest cider-producing companies in the world.

  1. OMG would just like to comment. woodchuck is so good. i think the classic red one is my favorite. ALSO. i tried so many different ciders in uk. that fact doesnt surprise me because all they drink is cider and cider there is so much stronger. its like almost 10%!
